Solar Eclipse Results

WOW! This eclipse didn’t take long to start creating some magic at our house!

My husband Mike has been desperately seeking a better job for the past month or so, and on Monday the good word arrived! He’ll be working in a new position improving solar energy conversion technology from DC to AC, something he’s great at and he really believes in. In addition, his pay will increase and he has cut his commute to work in half.

On the home front, we are in the middle of a major kitchen remodel for our 20 year old house. Change is in the air…and everything is working out great! We were forced to buy more counter top laminate than we wanted, but as luck would have it, the color looks great in our bathroom! So we’ll finally get rid of that awful baby blue color from the previous owners.

I also have some good news on the writing front. I’ve started selling my e-book from my website and had some great feedback from my customers. This has convinced me to spend the money to convert my book into paperback format, and get it listed on AMAZON, etc.

I’ve been reading The Well-Fed Self-Publisher lately. This book holds a wealth of information about every aspect of publishing, especially the marketing and sales end of things. He said I needed to get blurbs from readers of my book recommending it to others.

This required a major leap of faith on my part because I’ve always had a problem asking for help from others. Still I jumped right in and e-mailed ten of my new blog pals and asked for their assistance. To my great surprise, almost all have offered to read my book and provide blurbs about it! Thank you, thank you!

Finally, I made a big, important decision in my personal life this past Sunday. I have maintained a slight connection with my ex-husband for the past seven years, so that we could share custody of our dogs.

Now the dogs are very near the end of their lives, and I felt it was high time for me to cut off all contact with my “was-band.” He was my last connection with my past, dysfunctional self, the one that allowed others to abuse and disrespect her. He attempted to manipulate and abuse me for the last time last week!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Divorce is expensive, freedom priceless…

    Hi Queen,

    I’ve got 2 notes here.

    1) viz-a-viz divorce:

I was talking to a salesman of one of my customers. He asked me:

“What are you giving your wife for Valentine’s Day?”
    “Nothing,” I said.
‘How can you get away with that?” he asked.
“Our first date cost $500,000,” I answered.

    2) Since my first name is Philip and I am a software fixer, a lot of my customers call me “Dr. Phil”. As a result, every now and them I come up with Dr. Phil-like quotes.

Today’s is: “Sorry is the suitcase that we put our regrets into.”

    You go Queen!
